When Jesus sends someone to love you
A short poem to remind us to allow ourselves to be loved by those who know love.
With everything going on, I’ve found it really hard to feel loved. However, my fiancé unrelentingly has reminded me that when God is by our side, nothing can separate us. This is a thank you to those who stand by the side of those who find it hard to be loved and a reminder that we are meant for more than just earthly love.
I feel like Jesus sent you,
I swear I was not prepared
For you understood me perfectly
As no one had ever dared
Don't you get I'm broken?
I'm not one piece, I'm two
But your love stood unwaivering
I wanted to know that peace too
My anxiety creeped in
It showed you the worst of me
But you looked at me with love
You showed me what joy could be
I don't get why you don't leave me
I don't get, why not run and hide?
You looked at me inquisitively
"Don't you see Jesus by our side?"
You said, "when Jesus made me,
He made me just for you
He wants me to get you to heaven
and He wants the same for me too
"A little bitterness won't scare me
My love won't die today
Jesus showed me a greater love
Jesus showed me the Way
"So, love, please don't give up
Give us another try
I want to get you to heaven
For that cause, I'd even die"
When Jesus sends someone to love you
Their love may seem extreme
But it makes sense, considering
The God they love reigns Supreme
