Loving the moon does not mean that one thinks the moon creates its own light. Furthermore, by loving the moon one acknowledges the sun produces light and admires its beauty through its reflection.  In a similar way, loving Mary does not disregard God. All love for Mary places God at the center. Unless it is an unhealthy obsession for Mary, every bit of love for her leads us straight to God. Jesus gave us His mother to love, so why shouldn’t we?
